This visit included a meeting with Natural Resource Governance Institute’s (NRGI) Regional Director for Eurasia, Galib Efendiev and staff of Eurasia Hub, where the Director of the Hub Ingilab Ahmadov updated Mr Weyermann on the latest activities and future plans of the centre.
Thereafter, Reto Weyermann joined the Board meeting that took place at Khazar University via Skype. Board members exchanged ideas on selection procedure for “Legal and Fiscal Frameworks of Extractive Industries” training, on Certificate Program in Natural Resource Management and on improvement of media tools to enhance alumni outreach further.
After the Board meeting Professor Hamlet Isaxanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees received delegation of SECO, Ingilab Ahmadov and Galib Efendiev at his office. Future plans of Eurasia Hub, which is funded by SECO and hosted by Khazar University, were the main objects of discussions. As the result, sides agreed on proceeding further with the establishment of Certificate Program in Natural Resource Management at Khazar University in partnership with NRGI. The Pilot stage of the Program will be launched in January 2017 and is planned to be transferred into a Master degree program after the second year.
