Eurasia Hub’s training on “Natural Resource Decision Chain” completed its third day with analysis of fiscal tools in Extractive Industries.
The first day of the training started with the session dedicated to the end of commodity super-cycle and adaptation strategies of the countries in Eurasia to low price environment. Following that Eurasia Director of NRGI, Galib Efendiev, introduced Natural Resource Charter and its key components.
The experts from BP Azerbaijan delivered the second day of the training. Saadat Gafarova, from environmental department, talked about environmental standards of BP and its main activities in Azerbaijan. Thereafter, Nijat Garayev, delivered a session on social responsibility projects of BP and its key element. Legal expert, Eliyar Aliyev, concluded the day with presentation on Legal Framework of extractive industries followed by exercise on analysis of Production Sharing Agreements in Azerbaijan.
NRGI’s Mongolia Manager, Dorjdari Namkhaijantsan, introduced fiscal tools and types of taxation. After these sessions participants proceeded to Fiscal modelling and conducted a scenario simulation.
